I Just spotted this on Flightsim...FSX Native too!! :)</center>

I would be interested in this if you have had any success in porting the 727 VC across - have you tried it?

Spike
Yep!
I used a copy of the 727's panel folder, renamed "panel.727"
Made a "texture" folder and placed copies of the 4 727 VC textures there.
Added a texture.cfg to the texureDOT folders.
I made a Model.VC folder, L1011_100.mdl and tom_727200_interior.MDL and proper model.cfg
Finally point the aircraft.cfg to the panel.727 and Model.VC
Almost forgot! You will also need to use the 727 "eyepoint" or you will have to look back 20ft to see it...

Works fine!...Don

BTW: UKMIL, Very nice...Uploading?

Is there a way to fix the nose wheel steering?
Sorry, those animations are in the model.
If we are lucky, Mr. Ruth will give us an update package with an L1011 interior model and a new visual model with the nose steering animated.

Regardless, I'm thankful to have a good TriStar in my hanger...Don

and the grey version

I always liked the L1011 in RAF clothes, and these look particularly nice. I once rode a Air Transat L1011 and it was the most uncomfortable flight of my life. Creaky old bird she was flown by Captain Kangaroo seemingly. :salute:

Does anybody know how to put an autopilot on the plane? I hit Z, and nothing happens. I don't care for a complicated one with all kinds of switches to flip, I just wanna hit Z and walk away.

Thanks,

Walter :icon_lol:

I don't have the aircraft in question but what you want to do is easy to achieve.

1. Find an aircraft that has an auto-pilot that works the way you want it to.
2. Open up that aircraft's aircraft.cfg file in Notepad.
3. Scroll down to the [autopilot] section then highlight and copy the entire section (including the [autopilot] header) to the clipboard.
4. Open the Tristar aircraft.cfg file and scroll down to the [autopilot] section (if it exists) then highlight it all and select paste to replace all the original data with the copied data.
5. If the Tristar has no [autopilot] section just paste the data into the end of the file.
6. Save the file and test.

Lol, I've been flying MS simulators for years and never knew you could just press Z and the autopilot would come on. Never too old to learn !!!!!

Must start reading instructions !!!!
