The Veltro was derived from the C.202 Folgore with the installation of a German Daimler-Benz 605 series engine. Fast, maneuverable, reliable, it had comparable performances with the Bf109G series. Served mostly in the Mediterranean Theatre 1943-44.
Top speed of 640 km/h at 5600 m, Climb to 2000 m in 1'28'', to 6000 m in 5'55''.
Armament was of 2x12.7mm nose section plus 2x 20mm in the wings.
