Now, I've got some pics to show off what I'm talking about. Firstly, the Ragonot unit with a working variable resistance (or should it be resistor?).
Furthermore, the startup effect, with some flames and some puffs of smoke.
At last, the effect that will occur after rapid throttle movement.
Since I've some troubles with my Photobucket, I need to insert them as attachments (if it works too...)

Thanks for the replies! I eventually had to leave the throttling-up-smoke, since there appeared too many conditions for it to be visible. So that feature is scrapped, my apologies for that.
In VC, I added some other feature: a winding clock. Ok, it's not fully the same as it should be in real life, but it is an approximation. In fact, one needs to right-click the knob below the clock gauge, scroll it to place the needles at the correct time, middle-click to push the knob back and scroll to wind the knob. After a certain number of windings, the clock will be automatically set to the current local time. I'm still thinking of some approach to let the needles display (after appropriate winding) the time one set using the turnknob, but that might not be feasible for me yet.
But for the remaining, the addon is in final phase. I released a beta yesterday for some members around here, which will be regarded as final testing. Of course, a lot can happen but a milestone is achieved anyway.

Hi all,
Beta testing is busy now, at the moment I'm working on invisible improvements. So I decided to create a small flight report, that is a part of it.
We're flying at Ameland today. Weather is Real-world weather.
I'm already above the clouds (around 15000 ft) when I decide to start a report. So we start with this picture. The blue flame at the exhaust is visible, due to the hot engine. The Blenheims (which used the same engines) were equipped with a flame-damper.
This is what it looks at four o'clock. At the right you can see the battery.
We start a dive, to get below the clouds and eventually land at EHAL. Make a flick roll and dive on. The D.21 was very good capable of diving flight, 700 km/h was an achievable speed during the dive! Having 302 kts indicated here.

The island of Ameland starts to shape in my windscreen. And I can look through the Goertz gunsight.
I still like the NL2000 scenery a lot. The 213 over Ameland, but not yet HuBoBe. HuBoBe means Huisje Boompje Beestje, literally House Tree Animal. It was an extreme low-altitude flight which Dutch pilots did to get rid of the Messerschmidts in May 1940.
Tower EHAL got met in sight. This model displayed is LOD100. I've got LODs 400, 100 and 5, which work perfectly.

Landing configuration with braking flaps! Speed is correct now and one can see the open slider windows. It's quite hot today!

After taxiing back to parking, I open the left canopy and shut down the engine.

Since beta testing progress is allright now, I decided to start working on the early D.21 version, like it was delivered to the Army. My apologies for having no screenshots yet, they will follow soon.

The early version's pilot has also been adapted: he now wears a white flying cap and a pair of glasses. This is done after photographs of early colors D.21s having white-capped pilots in the cockpit.
And I made a flight from the airfield of Teuge. Just taking off, and playing HuBoBe with the cows.
A typical Dutch view in my opinion: the tricolor, a Fokker and some flat green scenery.

Looks great and somehow this pilot looks quite familiar 
Perhaps the weathering should be reduced a bit as the aircraft is much newer here than in the "orange markings" version. (just a thought).
And NL2000 is indeed beautiful scenery and certainly the best value for money (free!)

Thanks Huub! Again, the NL2000 scenery takes some attention. I've done quite a few little jobs and improvements recently, but the latest is... the custom environment map!

This map is IMHO better than the default environment map and it reflects much more accurate the Dutch scenery. Mind, I overdrive reflection settings for this purpose only now.

Another beta has been sent to my testers. Since I had a bit of time, I started working on the Danish license built version. I can't really show pictures, but the main differences are:
- Different gunsight
- No standard landing lights
- No weapons
- Tiplights moved
- Large landing light right
- Landing gear strut protection cover removed (was also in real, because snow was gathering there)
- No radio antenna
- the inside of course has even more differences!
Until now, the external model is done mostly and the VC is being worked on.
