FsX native freeware aircraft list

If you put in the download links it would be very accessible in any form.

:icon_lol:

The vast majority of the list came from Ferry's post a few weeks ago and this was the format he chose. If someone were to offer to convert the list to a spreadsheet then additional details could be added. I think all the staff and admin have enough on their plate without expecting any of them to do the work.

A spreadsheet version would be great but would take some time. Also there would be problems for those without MS Office or Open Office. The forum search button could be used to find Authors or Aircraft.
I've just started to compile an online 'Google Spreadsheet' here...

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ajp_sOJLki7mdEJiNWhQbmU2czVZUzU4YWgzYm1oVXc

.. based on the info in this thread. It's going to take a while to complete but at least it will be available for all to view (just need a browser), will have 'sort-able' columns (by creator/author, aircraft make/model/type etc.) and can be downloaded if required.

It is currently restricted to just my access as far as data input is concerned but once the 'meat' is in there it could be made 'open access' so that anyone could update it much like a 'Wiki' page.

If anyone would like to lend a hand I could do with some assistance to be honest especially hunting down all the links to the downloads. Drop me a PM if you can assist.

EDIT:

I've just completed the initial list in the first post and will now check all the other posts to see if any have been missed.

So far I've made 241 entries and if anybody now says "FSX sucks 'cus there's no freeware available for it" I'll hit them upside the head with a 'clue by four'! :isadizzy::violent:

NOTE:

After going to the above link if you click on 'View' at the top and then select 'List' from the drop-down menu you can sort the spreadsheet like a database based on the column headings so you can easily find aircraft you are interested in.

Great job Larry!:applause:

I just updated the spreadsheet with more links and also sorted the first two columns alphabetically to make it easier to find aircraft by authors. In addition I found multiple aircraft by Jens B. Kristensen that had been missed from the original list so if you like JBK's planes it might pay you to have a look.

The link is here....

p.s. the list now stands at 257 entries.

Larry,
Unfortunately a number of Jen's aircraft added to the list are port-overs; very good port-overs to be sure. I don't think he made any true FsX models until 2010/11.
There is an intention to run a favorite port-overs thread in the future and those aircraft could all be added then.

I made sure that they were his FSX ONLY versions when I added them and assumed they were fully native as he specifically pointed people to the FS9 versions in the info for each file.

Only the Viscount has an interior mdl and it's been made with the FSX SDK, the mdl is an MDLXMDLH. Britannia is an FS9 port, as is the Solent, Viking, DC-6 and I presume the Hermes too (as I don't have it installed)

When there's an FSX version I believe it's an FS9 version tweaked to work in FSX.

Ferry had it right in the original list. I'm a big fan of Jens' work and I'm so please he moved to FsX native eventually and I'm sure there will be more to come. Rumour has it that there may be a Clipper in the works:engel016:

Thanks for the list...this makes it easier to retrieve info.

a great resource - thanks Tako, the spreadsheet is much appreciated

wow I didn't realize there was so much freeware for FSX out there

Guys, I am having a bit of trouble hunting down all the obscure download links for the spreadsheet (the obvious ones have been done). It's taking up a lot of my time at the moment which could be better spent on the FSX freeware aircraft I have been working on for over a year now (and which I would like to finish while I still have some hair left!)

If any of you can fill in the remaining blanks it would be much appreciated, just post the link in here (with name of the creator and aircraft) and I will update the spreadsheet.

The spreadsheet can be found here....

Thanks. :ernae:

Thanks Ferry that filled in a few blanks although Milton's page looks like it is all his FS2004 stuff. I will have to hunt down the FSX conversions that were done (I know at least two were put into the SOH library recently).
