FSX-native Mustang from A2A . . .

I tried asking in the A2A forums and got no answer. Is this just for the stand alone model? I bought the fs9 version many moons ago and was hoping to use it in FSX.

As far as I know, it's supposed to update the Wings of Power: WWII Fighters P-51 to FSX native. The CD I have for WWII Fighters has both FS9 and FSX installation options.

It will update the WWII Fighters and the solo editions.
There is an intermediate update that is required before the free update will take.

I found it! Thanks.

No problem, those Blue Nose *******s of Bodney repaints are great!

I made a short movie with "damn yankee" (repaint by Jan Kess Blom) departing from Lelystad (EHLE). The scenery is via tileproxy.
It has just been uploaded so the HD option is unavailable, but will be in a short notice.

Hope you enjoy it!

Kind regards,

Meso

Here's Ed Giller's P-51D 44-14985 'The Millie G' in hi-def 2048 x 2048. It's basically from Bomber_12th's paint kit but I've added some bits from the excellent A2A paint kit and will do some more on the wings to see how it looks.

Painting this Pony as nearly as much fun as flying it!!! Thanks again A2A:ernae:

I wonder why no-one thought of fixing the radio wire which sort of passes through the canopy? That has always held me off from buying that... Sorry if this post seems trollish, this has always been one of my pet peeves because the model is so awesome otherwise!

Hey Sascha,
That isn't a modeling error. That's the detrolla radio antenna and it passes through the canopy into the relay box located just behind the pilot's head rest. If you can find the P-51's operator's manual, there are some nice detailed pictures/drawings of the radio setup.

Hi guys, always good to see that you still use my repaints.
I noticed a remark about 2048 textures, the only one I uploaded is this Swedish one:
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=13240, I spent so much time translating all the markings that I just had to upload it. I think I did a few more, but never uploaded them I believe (VH-BOB maybe?)
As for blue noses; here's a few more:
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=10957

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=10954

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=10953

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&FileID=10952

Now I'm off for some test flying the FSX pony

MMM, she looks wonderful! No sounds yet, seems the comp had a hiccup while I was gone...working on it...
But I do have a 2048 VH-BOB if anybody wants it, and all the older 1024 paints work nicely too. Thank you, A2A!

Kelly Kid2 (10953) is showing up as a dead link, unfortunately, jankees... :(

I was taking a look at Bodney last week and, when I've finished the stuff I'm doing, I *MIGHT* be able to put it back in. It's unusual to find a grass airfield so clearly visible after over half a century, so it seems a waste to not use it. If I do manage it, I'll need every blue nose I can get for a 10spf photoshoot! :icon_lol:

It's good to see you back, Jan! :wavey:

Good to be back. I just realised I spent 3 weeks in your neck of the woods, Stephan (La Motte Chalancon & Buis les Baronnies to be precise), I should have paid you a visit. Next year we'll hold a painting session in the south of France, OK?

I'll see if I can find the original file, and repost it then...
edit: found it, uploading now..

Maybe old news but for the first time I'm finding a big positive with DX10 Preview. I have the Moonbeam McSwine, modern paint from a little over a year ago. I don't remember who did it, but it is a real beaut. I have it on the recent Mustang update. With DX10 Preview on, it really shines. With it off, its rather dull. My version of flying warbirds is that I'm flying museum or airshow aircraft so an airplane with a current world civilian registration, any country, is a big plus.

It will be a pleasure, Jan...:ernae:
