FSX/Prepar3D Sim Launcher 6.2

Hey Dain, you might suggest that to Maarten. He seems pretty cool about taking suggestions. I had asked about it saving preferences, such as the aircraft tab always displaying all aircraft. so the next update he added to the preferences page. He seems pretty active with it too, only a few days ago it was version 5.3, now it is 5.5.

Cheers
TJ

Thanks, I did.

Did not care for it

I tried this program and the concept is good however, when I first launched it (and no one here mentioned this so I will for the benefit of others ergo hu)
that when you launch it for FSX it is looking for 3 files that I did not have in FSX: runways.xml, f5.csv and g5.csv - I did a complete search in all of my 1TB HD and to no
avail were they found alas the simlauncher refused to launch untill those files were in my FSX folder. So, I had my Ah Ha moment and noticed that I needed a progrem
i.e. MakeRwys.EXE Version 4.614, by Pete Dowson. That program produced those three files and the simlauncher was a happy camper. Then I configured the type
aircraft, location and weather and launched fsx thru this proggie and the FSX splash screen loads with the default fsx aircraft/location and the simlauncher wants approx
3 minutes to set things up. It's a nice concept but I can load Razorgame booster and in about 30 seconds, I can be flying in the plane at the airport and weather that I chose.
Sooo..., I took out those three files that this "make runways" program produced + the make-runways program it self. In other words, I hit the reset button to go back to my original status.
Thanks, but respectfully, no thanks.

WOW!

Wake up this morning and he's already made version 5.6! :icon_lol:
Removed the "always on top" attribute, and fixed a couple other issues.

Thanks, Maarten Boelens! :wavey:

I had reported some of the minor bugs to him last night, this morning, 5.6 is out and from what I can see, all those minor bugs fixed. Good man Maarten!:salute::icon29:

I have no problem with loadtimes. FSX Launcher loads in about 20 seconds for me, and I've got 198 aircraft entries according to Launcher lol.

Hi,
can anyone tell me where version 5.6 can be downloaded from, I can only find version 5.3 at Flightsim.com.

Ian.

When you run the program it finds the latest version (when that option is checked) and downloads it automatically.

Noticed that the load time is less for me with this version.
I have about 3 times as many aircraft, so it still takes a while. LOL.
(Just hate swapping them out to the storage 'hangar' anymore)

I just started the BF-108 with option for wings folded...it did! :icon_eek::applause::applause: That means you can start out in your F-18 or A-7 or whatever with your wings folded. I asked Maarten about doing the same thing for aircraft exits, if it was even possible, so we will see. Would be really cool to start your aircraft with a door or canopy open. Maybe he could also have an option to start from the Spot view or such.

I heard back, he said opened exits were not possible as a start up option. Thats fine, he did say he was fixing a few more bugs and should have 5.7 out soon.

5.7 is out! :salute::icon29: Maarten fixed a few bugs, he added to the location listing on the front page so it also displays selected parking location...ie runway, gate, parking...etc. He added in preferences the ability to start the flight from a different view such as Spot, Tower..etc. He said this feature might have some issues for EZDOK users. I don't have EZDOK so I can't comment on that.
