FSX Screenshots Here!!

Stop pottering about with gardens shears :p87: ... and get on that LHA -

Went to install it and it was already there:very_drunk: I'd never bothered (probably forgotten) to add an entry in AIC for it:banghead: Agree about the deck.. f a r too clean but the models are nice. All 5 in company gave little or no hit at all. When I installed the old Alpha Belleau Wood (Missions) and it worked fine, I stayed with that one. It's kinda cool having AI takeoff and land on it.

@delta_lima: yes, it's the Ito thing. I think an up-to-date -D or -K exterior alone will be very nice indeed! Long ago, SectionF8 had one in the planning, but no news on their site... But a texture improvement isn't too bad on the Ito bird too, I think...

Can't stay behind... Well, my name isn't doing bad in (Dutch) military aviation...

F86K.png

This is the F-86K fighter, which has served our Airforce. We don't exactly know why, but this fighter got the nickname 'Kaasjager', which means literally 'Cheesehunter'. The word 'jager' could also refer to 'fighter'.

Now, a lot of Dutch aviation fans don't believe it, but my family name is Kaasjager :D

The F86K was known by Italian Air Force pilots as KAPPONE ( = big K). I simply love it and I wonder why nobody has made a good digital replica of this all wheather fighter. :very_drunk:

Indeed, that (AI) was, to my view, the only advantage of FS9's stationary carrier platform. They day someone figures out how to do that in FSX's moving carriers, there had better be a Nobel price announcement.

Which reminds me, now that I have a new(ish) pc, maybe I should buy the new Strike Fighters North Atlantic title. I enjoyed all the others, but I hear NA has a really good naval ops mod ...

Anyway - back to screens...

Something loud, brash, and doubtlessly a key contributor to the hearing aid business ...

Of course, it's pretty hard to turn down a chance to see lovely Bordeaux, in an equally lovely Etendard ...

And now something more pastoral ... what could be more enjoyable the rumble of two Rolls Avons, the smell of Swiss chocolate, and the lovely taste of a little glass of 1959 St. Emilon ...

dl..

The main issue it has in FSX/Acc is the smoke on the AV8's.. it's nowhere near the model:dizzy: Otherwise.. it works just fine:encouragement: I'm sure I'd read somewhere that it was a no-go with SP2/ACC but for me at least.. that isn't the case.

BTW.. I know it's out of era with Boxer. The Boxer unrep group was already made in AIC and rather than have to make something up for Belleau Wood.. I added it to Boxer so it'd have some friends:untroubled:

Here's the Alpha Belleau Wood (Missions)..

Sea Knight arriving.. AND empty stern!!

You can see the AV8's ground effect smoke ever present too. If you can stand not looking at the back.. it's good to go.

You lost me here ... which AV8? The Razbam AV-8B? Smoke? Sorry - missing something (doesn't take much, with me!).

EDIT - ah now I see - I replied before seeing the second post. See, doesn't take much to confuse me ... Great shots!!!

The Sea Knight and AV8 you see in the shots above are attached to the model.. they come and go whether you want them or not:biggrin-new:

Willy, that's quite an unusual avatar you have, shipmate. Pete

The Harpoon had some Air Farce guy in the left seat originally. I just figured as a Navy aircraft, it needed a Navy pilot and while I was at, figured it needed an enlisted pilot. So we did a quick initiation and he made Chief Aviation Pilot. (There's also the old VF-2 "Flying Chiefs" emblem from the USS Lexington (CV-2) under his side window) (And yes, I know CPO hats were a little different back then and intend to fix that before I release any textures)

The "Silver Eagles" are an almost forgotten bit of Naval Aviation history, that I try to include in any paints I can.
