Special Server Maintenance
Just when you think you have everything running some what better...
You get a message from the Hosting company. Short story they need to move us to a new server. I have been working with them to plan a good date for all concerned. Here is what we have come up with as a schedule.
- November 4th 17:00 -5UTC shut off the forums and start backup proceedures. During this time there will be no access to the forums or the Resource Section.
- November 5th Continue with Backups and download same until complete.
- November 6th 7:00 turn over server to hosting company to move system to new server
- November 7th - 8th restore backups and upgrade forum software.
If all goes well we should be back online on November 8th.
To keep you updated we will post updates on AVSIM forums.
Thank you for your support.

Standard day Iceland to Scotland
Paint is a WIP - you forget how long these flights take in a DC-4, 6.45 hours and totally in the weather all the way. Rex 3D does the weather well.
Ready for start, and taxying out, rain and broken at 1200ft overcast above all the way to 10,000
The rest was like this:
FR's DC-4 ORBX Scenery REX Weather FSXA

- Great idea a real gem the FR DC-4 I neglect it myself due to the Jahn C47 and the PMDG DC-6 etc etc. Tricky to get some of the paintwork right but hey its a WIP!. Enjoy!

Aharon,
I am using LatinVFR Key West for the photoreal reefs and Zinertek- Ultimate Water X (https://secure.simmarket.com/zinertek-tech-ultimate-water-x-fsx.phtml) for the water effects. It is a great addon and makes the water look perfect without any impact on fps.

Y'know, RS, for some strange reason, the whole time I was looking at those pictures, the opening music from the movie Top Gun was playing in my head.
I can't figure it out.
Oh, BTW: Thanks a lot. Now I've got that darn song stuck demon-looping in my pea-brain.
Thanks for the pictures, and some good memories. Some bad ones, too...
Pat☺

Hi Pat
It´s nice to hear my pictures have triggered memories...
Stay healthy and - after exiting the loop - have a good time to create more new memories
