Expat, I love the Boeing BBJ :applause:

Which model is that and where are the textures for it please?

Thanks,

Pete

I am glad someone else does! And it's all freeware: TDS 737-700 base pack with N389BA and P4-NGK paints at avsim/flightsim.

This is in P3Dv4 with PBR models and textures that give the reflections.

MZee1960,

Your New Zealand screenshots are AMAZING. Are you using Orbx for those New Zealand screenshots in FSX?

Regards,

Aharon

Are you sure this is FSX?? It looks P3DV5 to me??? If it is FSX, can you please tell me how you achieve amazing realistic livery appearance??

Got me Aharon! P3Dv4.5 with PBR models and textures. Have not looked at FSX since 64 bit P3D changed the game in 2017. No more OOM's and it runs faster with better frames than FSX on the same PC build.

They are there again

When you fly over the west part fror my country (the Netherlands) in ORBX you will notice them. The colourful fields which represent the flowers which you can see at this moment. In the are where I live you can see these fields. Traditionally flower bulbs are grown here, and around Easter you are able to see the large fields filled you flowers in all colours. The fields attract millions of tourists from all over the world.

It is only a very short period as it is the bulb is which makes the profit. So the flowers are actually chopped off quite fast as the energy to grow this flower reduces the size of the bulb.

For those who wonder; A picture from the ORBX flower fields in FSX and some of the real thing, taken by me, seen from the ground... As you will see the real thing looks actually more spectacular than the ORBX version.

We've got some pretty decent ones over here too Huub, courtesy of your ancestors.

That is funny, I never knew they grew tulips in the UK as well. As my area is quite dense populated, the flower bulb culture has moved a bit North. I have cycled through East Anglia during late spring/early summer (quite a) few years ago, but didn't see any flower fields.

As transport costs are increasing, a lot has moved to the US as well. This is most probably the largest market for flower bulbs.

Cheers,
Huub

It is centred around Spalding in Lincolnshire. Very flat country there, they call it the Fens because the area used to be flooded; the Romans did some drainage but proper drainage started in the 1600s, mainly by engineers from the Low Countries (hence the windmill in that first picture). The area is now known as South Holland, there has been a parliamentary seat with that name (South Holland and the Deepings) since 1997. Lovely area, this time of year, not so lovely later when they switch to brassica. :biggrin-new:

Thanks for the heads up, Huub. :encouragement:

I just took off from EHVB, current date, daytime hours, and .........

The area looks so beautiful this time of year in the sim, ... I can only imagine how much nicer it must look in real life.

Really impressed by the quality of the displayed aircraft and landscape. Only disappointing are the odd dark "stripes" which are gashing the landscape. Are those small flumes inspired by ORBX vector maybe? Should not be enabled when TrueEarth is in use...
Apart from that....fantastic shot!

Hi Manfred,

I am not really sure why the 'stripes' are there. A couple are also visible in Huub's sim pic (post #14349 on the previous page). Based on Huub's real shots, I suspect them to be water channels - maybe for irrigation ? I have Orbx Global, Vector, OpenLC EU, and HD Trees in this area. No TrueEarth. Up close they are little streams in the sim landscape. Probably another feature added by Vector.
