Snapped this stunning one sitting in the sun at the 'Springs ........

Looks like a custom wrap job. Satin black and gold.

Great shots, Huub.

Which aircraft is that in your pictures ? Is it in our Library ?

The aircraft is the Commonwealth CA 12 Boomerang and the model is a payware model by Flight Replicas. As Australia was unable to purchase aircraft in the early stages of the war, they were forced to develop their own aircraft. The Boomerang was the first Australian fighter, fully developed in Australia. It shared a lot of parts with the Wirraway, which was base on the North American NA-16 (T-6 Texan).

Most likely because it looks like an aircraft from a comic book I fly it a lot. Although the real thing had a lot of problems with the engine (overheating), the model is a pleasant aircraft to fly in the sim.

In FS2004 I fly the freeware CFS2 model by Akemi (Hago_Chu) which is available in the library. Morton did some very nice textures for this. I have never tried, but I think this model works in FSX as well.

And private jets with Russian registration in an exotic place always make me think in James Bond scenarios...... (Especially when these are painted black).

Cheers,
Huub

Thanks, Huub. I'll have to do a search here for it. It's very unique, indeed.

The H850XP registration YV-1386 I show is Venezuelan, and it definitely has a 007 'aura' about it, .... almost stealth-like.
The flag on the tail is actually yellow/blue/red, with an arc of stars in the blue section which is impossible to make out from the far distance in the picture.

Well, it's not my paint and even more fraudulently on my part it's shot in P3Dv4 showing off what PBR can do for reflections! Model is an AI model made flyable and people can find a DIY kit in a thread here from last year by searching for "G650."

Palm Springs fly-over in the gorgeous freeware aircraft from AH. .... Yes, freeware.

It doesn't get much better than this for sightseeing ! :encouragement:

Mike,

The aircraft is the Globe Swift. It was a gift from Bazzar at the start of the pandemic. Strange enough it is still for sale at Steam, while you can download it for free from the Aeroplane Heaven site.
The model has one of my favourite animation: "the swaying key"

Some images from the same aircraft....

Cheers,
Huub

You have a sharp eye, Huub. Obviously you're well versed on this aircraft from a while back already.

Did you ever manage to 'remove' the pilots from the VC when the aircraft is parked with all power off and brakes set ? I cannot seem to be able to do so, although the option exists on the 'clipboard'.

Nice shot of the Tasmanian Aero Club over at Launceston !

Stopping by for some tropical heat and a Vegemite sandwich ....... :adoration:
