• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

One reason I like the P-40 so much. It is a V-12 powered warbird that can get me in and out of places like SABA and St Barts. If I do it right, I don't even have to ride the brakes too much. Too short for the P-51, and the hot tropical weather makes the Spitfire impractical...I want to take off 5 mins after I land, head over to St Barts. ;) This is Flytampa's SABA scenery, part of their St Maarten package. Saba and St Bart's are real fun challenging airports. St Barts, is a particular thrill in the P-40, come in over the hill, cut the power, dive for the runway, one helluva flare, hoping for a reasonably solid touchdown, some brake, show that shark mouth off to the beachgirls at the end of the runway LOL.

You can read the temps here, and this is from taxiing back after a few trips around the circuit. Even a little over redline, she is still cool as a cucumber, granted, she stays cool if you treat her right and bring power back to climb/cruise settings when appropriate.
