• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The new freeware Hornets in this thread are what I think to which he is referring. You can find the downloads and all the info about them over in the the thread on the new F/A-18 at the FS Dream Team Forums.

Thank you for the hint with the FS Dream Team Forum.

Nice work!
Thanks...;)
It started life as the original Alphasim panel....then I went about setting it for 1680x1050 ...and thus began hunting down suitable references....ended up with animations for the stick, throttle, flaps, chute handle, canopy, knobs, and refuel probe. Then came modding gauges to look more like the real thing [some from photos] and then all the glass alphas ended up with animated [working] reflected gauges. Finally a cheat or two... FA18 hud and clicking on the center of the HSI replaces it with a GPS....
For a long time I had the ATT and HSI swapped...as one photo like that does exist...but just recently I reverted to the 'default'...
I even completely redid the ribbon gauges from the alpha originals...;)

One thing on my bucket list is to get to the US and catch up with a Thud and convince whom-ever to let me get into the cockpit and take a squillion photos....eg...there's 4/5ths of bugger-all images suitable for the inside canopy rails...;)

How do I get acess to screenshots?

I know I have mentioned this before but how do I have access
screenshots? Thanks

Thanks...;)

So, if I understand correctly, your work concerns only the 2D panel, right ?
When I first saw the picture you posted, I thought "wow, that VC looks cool!". I was on my way to buy that plane in fact ! Thanks for clarifying.
