FSX Screenshots Here!!

A couple more ... 1435 Sqn ...

Thanks to ACG, John Young, et al for the scenery and AI - RAF Wattisham. Massive detail, minimal FPS hit. Pure magic.

cheers,

This is the Aerosoft Kitty Hawk CV-63 and her three sisters.

I keep looking at the Aerosoft Tomcat but I think the carrier is drawing me in more than the jet!! Nothing wrong with the jet but there's nothing wrong with Dino's F14 either.. for me:)

Can you have different deck loads for it Joe?

Nice shots DL:encouragement:

Hey Dave,

I only bought the Tomcat for the Kitty Hawk.:biggrin-new: In all honestly you can't have enough of the mighty Tomcat. I have Dino's installed
too. Yes to the different deck loads, there are a couple different configs including full hanger deck. I just didn't set them up for those pics, the 2 tomcats are modeled with the clear deck on the elevator. (which does go up and down)

CALVI ( LFKC ) : in evening.

Hello

This is a new Calvi (LFKC) Airport. Only a few days ago. With REX for clouds and an evening flight, during a storm, I thought it was not bad. And you ?

Another Classic GA Airplane...

...This is a FSX updated version of Bill and Lynn Lyons' Waco that I found at flightsim (I think.). Anyway, this a screen shot of it flying as AI in one of my sceneries.
It's just before making a perfect three point landing.

Work in progress

I'm not the best screenshot guy but here's what I got

AlphaSim P-80 in progress of being ported over to FSX SE.

And the other side

The paint is one that Morton did for the CFS 2 conversion of the Shooting Star. I think it started with him as one for IL2. Right now it's in 888 32bit bitmap format. It'll be going to .dds shortly.

(not much on jets, but I do like the early ones)

Great shots, John!

Always liked your weathered "in theatre" USMC WWII Corsairs, would love a similarly weathered USMC bird from Korea.

The A2A F4U was my first FSX payware purchase ... still gets flown lots.

Will - sweet P-80. Morton did some great work, didn't he? He really mastered the art of believable "well used" aircraft paints - not unlike Pierre Lleureux's work, or John's for that matter.

I recall installing those paints straight into FSX+Accell - don't recall having to convert them, though. Haven't flown the F-80 since upgrading and going DX10 - one of those old FS9 models that aged well, to be sure. :encouragement:

DL, they downloaded as some odd bmp format (565?) so I resized them to 2048 and made alpha layers for them, then converted them to 888-32bit for a peek at how they'd look in FSX. I wasn't sure if they'd even work as downloaded and I was also wanting to figure out how to get alpha layers to work properly in X. I converted to a DXT 5 dds last night and no descernable change other than an up in fps from the 32bit version. Other than the alpha layers and change to dds, I'm not going to mess with Morton's work. Other bits on the P-80 however are subject to whatever I can think of to do to 'em. Like changing the tires to a different tread (from one of Milton's masterpieces) and maybe shining up some VC bits.

8 more to go. Then off to see what I can do with some old FS9 textures for Piglet's T-33.

The result of an awesome combination: Windows10/Prepar3D/DirectX12

Oh, and that P3D install is just vanilla. No addons except for the lovely Tigerkitty!
