FSX suddenly dislikes FSUIPC

gavinc

SOH-CM-2022
Hi,
I have 2 versions of FSX installed (boxed and SE)

The boxed version has suddenly stopped liking FSUIPC.
When I start it I get the following
attachment.php

It used to work fine and FSX-SE is quite happily using the same version.

This started a few days ago and I deleted all the files out of the Modules folder and re-installed FSUIPC. It worked for a day or so and then today it thru up the same error again.

Tried un-installing and re-installing but no luck.

I am on Windows 10 and I installed as Administrator.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Gavin

You may need an older version of FSUIPC for the boxed version. It is always being updated to work with the updates to FSX:SE and P3D, so maybe the latest version is no longer compatible with the legacy FSX.

I haven't had this message, but when I installed Razbam's A-7, FSUIPC wasn't in the tool drop down menu anymore (I first found out when the Yak-38 wouldn't hover anymore) and I had to reinstall it. Could problems these be linked?

Sounds like a recent update has increased your security settings. I get this often after updates and I just pull the uac slider back to zero.

Hi,
ScottH6 - I will try rolling back to an older version, doesn't explain why it used to work.

ncooper - FSX crashes.

Roger - If it was a security issue on my account I would have thought that FSX-SE would have the same issue.

I'll keep trying.

Old version works

So I went and installed version 4.26 which I found skulking around on my hard disk.

Works fine in FSX (boxed)

And 4.955c seems to be working in FSX-SE.

I have just installed the same version into FSX Disk Edition.

Installer for FSUIPC4.DLL version 4.955c
Looking in registry for FSX install path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator\10.0
Parameter"SetupPath"
... >>> OK! FOUND FSX! <<< ...
SetupPath=G:\FSX\
and it works just the same as the last version did

Hi Nick,

Like I said, 4.955 used to work for me in FSX boxed. Then one day it stopped.

The only thing I can think of is that you have a registered copy.

This is my experience also..as well as Accu-Feel has also stopped working and is no longer in the drop down menu in FSX boxed..win7 64 here.

The Razbam A7 killed my addons menu too. The problem being that the install left errors in dll.xml. After these were tidied up.. the addons menu returned:encouragement:
