• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

fsxfollow.exe, fsxlive.com

This is a new take on the moving map for FSX. It comes from Jeroen Vandenbelt at PositionGames.com, where you can download a PC client, fsxfollow.exe, and register for the web server, fsxlive.com.

I installed FSXFollow.exe on my Windows 7 X64 PC. Then I registered (I paid 6.99 Euros via PayPal, and I received my key via gMail from Jeroen).

I start FSX and load a flight plan.

I start FSXFollow.exe, login and check that my key has been entered.

I open fsxlive.com in any browser, on the same PC or any other PC (I tried my Android tablet and my Google TV).

My flight shows in the list on the left. I click it, and my plane shows at the departure airport, with the flight plan in green and my track in blue.

The browser window is just Google Maps overlaid with the aircraft icon, the flight plan and the track, so it doesn't really compete with FSWidgets or Plan-G. But it's really easy to connect, and can be viewed using any browser on any platform (Windows, iOS, Android). It doesn't even need to be on the same network as the FSX PC.
