FTX: Australia Green Released

Downloading's out for me, as I'm still on Dial-Up. So I'm waiting for the combined DVD to become available, towards the end of the year.

Then I'll get the lot! :)

Hey that Aussie chick has a nice can!!hehe I'm moving to the land down under!!:costumes: By the way, it is some awesome scenery! Very well done!!:d

Unfortunately, chicks are expensive and you also have to buy Aerosoft's Lord Howe to get her (and a few minor matters:d).
I only merged AU Green Lord Howe with AS Lord Howe. It's not yet perfect, but that's more due to my lack of knowledge.
A merged Lord Howe looks much more alive ("FTX style"), AI traffic is working and there are no holes in mountains anymore.

Many thanks to Holger, who made this possible with his fantastic rendition of Lord Howe Island in AU GREEN!
AU GReen contains also Norfolk Island and the landscape of the main territory of AU Green is simply stunning.

After the disaster that was default FSX scanery (mostly desert) ORBX has set the bar very high for Microsoft to match in FSX11.

Cheers

Aren't the ORBX sceneries "just" photoreal ground textures plus autogen?

Imagine having that for the whole globe and all the seasons...FSXI's spece requirements would be about a terabyte or so. No, thanks!

I like the FS engine's approach way better - generic tiles plus information where to place them. Saves space and makes for a fairly accurate representation of the terrain.

Nonetheless, I think the ORBX guys did a terriffic job with that scenery!
And Nils' "farewell" screenshot is the perfect proof that even the dryest of flightsims is able to deliver emotions! Kudos!

No they are not photoreal ..... a lot of the tiles are hand laid but a lot of it is land class. And it is seasonal with snow on the higher areas like the Snowy Mountains, the ranges in Victoria and New South Wales where applicabla and in Tasmania.

All the packages are seasonal but as Australia is in a temperate zone the colours changes very little except for the areas mentioned above

Cheers

What Pat said, our scenery is NOT, I repeat NOT photoreal, it is handcrafted from beginning to the end

and your scenery is just fantastic, I love them so far.
I can't wait to see what you'll do with my favorite part of Oz, the Pilbara.
..any chance you'll add Corunna Downs?
