FTX PNW

I finally broke down and bought the FTX PNW Canada Pacific Northwest package. It's really nice. Covers a large area. I love the new landclass. For some reason I especially like the pic of the final approach from in the cockpit. That the “Outlying Field”, south of NAS Whidbey Island. It's closed to us riff-raff (note the yellow X), but the navy uses it to practice carrier landings. It will take a long time to explore the entire area covered by this scenery.

And the freeware OZx ones made to go with it. :jump:

I like Vashon though because you can switch on "Airshow Mode" in the Control Panel. It is a very small field so the air show is more like a fly-in for small GA planes, but that in itself is fantastic for things like the Cub, Bird Dog and all of the other awesome small planes.

Great shots Paul!
The nice thing about approaches in FTX is that all fields to some extent have been modified so those unrealistic light green rectangles are all gone.

Definitely!

I'm touring ORBX Oz at the moment and did the PC Pilot tour of PNW that they published (great way to explore it), both are great and really show what can be done with landclass and a mixture of photo-realism.

I added Tamworth recently and was surprised at how framerate friendly that was. PNW itself struggles on my current system so once the new build arrives I hope to add some add-on airports there too.

MS Flight scenery looks much more like ORBX work - hopefully they consulted with the experts!
