Fuel load

In the Quick Combat and in the Start up for the missions it is possible to change the fuel on board.

I don't see any way to "hard code" that into a flight in a mission or in a flight within a spawn file.

Is that because it can't be done? Or is there somewhere to dupe the engine?

I'm trying to create a flight of planes in a spawn which MUST land and not attack me, because they're out of fuel.

I don't think the AI uses fuel.

I know they don't seem to feel any affects from fuel weight and every mission I run out of fuel, my wingmen don't. Hopefully someone knows for sure.

So it's another little thing M$oft didn't get around to, I gather. Wingmen with apparently unlimited fuel while you sputter and go down. AIs that can outperform any human pilot.

They also don't obey the instruction to land it seems, and for some odd reason like to break off their approach and attack. Go figure, a fighter attacking rather than landing!

I'll try the .air file, and see if I can create a plane that runs out of gas.

Thanks, guys.

UPDATE: Took an fw190 and gave it only two total gallons of fuel. When I flew it as pilot, ran out of gas. If I flew against it in my trusty spit, it just kept on going and going. Looks like endgame down that path. AIs are not subject to the same laws of the universe as we are. Even if I could get the ai to run out of gas, I doubt it would cause its pilot to land -- too big an algorithm for an ai.
