• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Further things to do after installing to 1.5 list

I'm running CFS3-ETO ver. 1.50 with Win 7 64 bit with no problems. Please be sure to follow the help directions fully . It took me installing several times before i got it right. the videos helped very much . The 1.50 install doesn't have a video but does have read-me that should followed exactly.None of the security updates affected my install...

It doesnt take much in the land of PCs for a missing or misleading instructuion to cause mayhem.
I am PC literate, but am stumbling over in 1.5 the wording:-
Note: due to many false readings by numerous anti-virus programs and concerns by users, the CFS3 ETO Backup.exe, CFS3 ETO Expansion BDP Zapper.exe, and CFS3 ETO Expansion ZX Zapper.exe files have been completely replaced using a different program system. These three *.exe files will have been installed with the update.

3. Do NOT remove the original desktop icons for the ETO Backup and ETO BDP Zapper.

4. Now run the ETO BDP Zapper immediately after the installation of the CFS3 ETO Expansion Update Rev 1.50.exe is finished, and after you have sent the above-referenced icons to your desktop.

because there is no instruction on how to do this, where they might be, and those that I can find are dated 2010 ! and the old shortcut points to them anyway ! and we are supposed to leave the old shortcuts alone, and make new ones. :dizzy:

as such it (d/clicking on the only shorcut I see, the old one for ETO startup,) sees a message CFS3.exe not found, yet up until this install all was working fine.

I wish there was a video for Hotfix and 1.5 as it sure as heck needs it.

My post was about the fact there was mentioned MS updates that wreck CFS3 so these need adding to the install instructions, and anything else we need to be aware of.
