I'm thinking about making a futuristic install of FSX. E.g. Aircraft.any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks in advance!!

What exactly do you mean by 'futuristic"? Like a world of the future?

Hi all,
The Beech Starship for one a/c.The are also some what if a/c at flightsim.com.

Very cool...!

I did this with FS2004. Easier on that platform. I had all of my own SciFi looking advanced birds.

:d

Even did my own bootup splash screens.

With all the cool sci fi ships coming out and the new design things in FSX, I have been thinking about doing this as well. Only thing missing IMHO are different airfiles, similar to VTOL with enough boost in speed and handling to fly out of the atmospshere.
I already have a cool complex with animated monorails and outside glass elevators, LOL.

vtol, incredible speeds , enhanced high altitude lift and handling ..... hmmmmmmmm

I posted about this in an earlier post. It might be a good candidate:

It would be sort of a world of the future. I wouldn't change the scenery but I would change the aircraft. For example: A B747 would become a Tanker or a freighter-spaceships. I would also change their flight plans so only the Futuristic palnes would be flying and that's all you would see. No jets or props.:faint:

You could have those high altitude fast flight refueling dirigibles that fly in huge circles at upper atmosphere like in the movie 'Stealth'. Have them all shiny chrome.... :d

Having high alt. traffic (like at 100,000 feet) doing Mach 2 or Mach 3 would be cool. Have USAF extra-atmospheric fighters coming into Atmo from orbit would also be cool.... (the F136 was designed for that).

So much you could do..

I'm surprised no one has done "space elevators" yet...

...imagine having a dozen space elevator/tethers around the equator, and a giant wheel using them like spokes to secure a giant "tire" to be used as a permanent habitat...

Hey......

Now thats an idea..

You could also set up the planet (in the Sim) to look like RingWorld! Have a huge 50,000 or 100,000 foot wall on each side of the country. Then have huge solar panels in the sky at 300,000 feet with tether strings (super string material) that keep them secure..

I'm no good a making airports or scenery, I'm a amateur painter. If we could get someone to make make these great ideas into "reality" that would be great! :applause::applause::applause:

You guys, I am only just getting the hang of making planes for FSX. I still have no idea how one does scenery for FSX yet.

It would be fun to get those in there. I just dont know where to start. (I also have 2 planes to convert to FSX yet, the Kodiak, and a waiting list of about 4 planes to do).

You never know though. I would love to get some mini projects out between big projects.

Bill

Well, it seems FSX isn't going anywhere for a while, so despite the steep learning curve it has imposed on designers, you don't have to worry about a new version in six months having you start over from scratch.

The Viking is still in my top five favorites to fly in FSX and looks great, so whatever new skills you're adding to 'great' quality, it'll be worth it.

Besides, you know us here, we can wait. A little. Just don't start talking about "SOON"! :icon_lol:
