Fw190A early V.2.0 update W.I.P.

Mathias

SOH-CM-2024
As promised we are currently updating the early variants to the standard of the late variants, artwork- and system-wise.
A-3 and A-4 are basically complete with just the radio programming pending, what is easy enough since it's just a single channel steam radio.
The updated early variants should be available sometime in February (free upgrade for existing customers).
Little workshow below:

Beautiful Mathias!! Can you say if it will be a complete reinstall our just an update package?

Thanks!

Thanks flaviossa!
It will be a complete reinstall since there are changes everywhere.
Unfortunately older third party repaints will no longer be compatible because there are some changes to the external model's texture coordinates as well

Looks fantastic Mathias! I bought both variants from the Flight Sim Pilot shop. Will I still be able to get the update to the "Early Variants" somehow?

Pembrey airfield where Arnim Faber landed by mistake is only about 15 miles away and including Faber's aircraft in both Luftwaffe and RAF markings was most welcome knowing the history. A friend told me the story related by a wartime police officer of how Faber was moved from Pembrey as a prisoner in a vehicle where a weapon was accidentally discharged by an accompanying soldier/guard. Apparently with the exception of Arnim Faber the occupants were ashen faced with shock. I also heard that after spending time as a POW in Canada that later in the war he was the subject of a prisoner exchange on health grounds and that he ended the war fighting on the Eastern front. This last bit I haven't seen in any reference but it would be interesting if anyone can throw light on the matter.

Best regards,

John, you should be able to just re-download the plane from FS Pilot Shop.

Interesting anekdote on Faber, indeed!
I never heard about the prisoner exchange and the eastern front service, what doesn't mean that it didn't happen.
There was an 8 pages article on Faber's plane in the January 2009 issue of FLUGZEUG CLASSIC, but it mentions Faber's fate with just one sentence, that he's been interned as POW and that he passed away just three years ago.

Mathias,

Thanks for the return post, I look forward very much to your revised "Early Versions" and will download it from FS Pilot Shop when I know that it has been completed. I have also sent you a private message.

Best regards,

John
