Gauges you always add...

I always try to add these to my birds as much as possible and as practical,

RKG Fuel gauge, gives me pounds used/remaining, range or estimated time to EMPTY

ATN taxi/pushback gauge, more control than the ground handling gauges

Hover gauge, this is the one on HS's misc down load page not the AS_hover gauge, this can be activated with a keystroke or button push as well as adjusting your height via the A&B buttons on my X-52.

Door control gauge, self explanatory, has three styles to choose from.

RadioCD4 gauge, have to have my music

For my military birds I install the Jellair Refueling gauge, it works even parked on the ramp, best thing to do is taxi to the fuel pits, shut down the the proper side engine for twin jets or keep the engine turning on helos and A-4 and A-7 birds and hot fuel.

Most of the these with the exception of the Hover gauge are at Flightsim, AVSIM, or Simviation.

A must have for Helo Pilots:

[SIZE=-1] FS2004 Gauge--VTOL For Helicopters. This package contains a VTOL control gauge for helicopters that works around some FS9 limitations and/or incorrect flight dynamics, which makes them sometimes hard to control, especially at low airspeed and when you have your realism sliders set above minimum. It provides smooth and stable VTOL capabilities, with pilot-controlled ascent/descent rate, longitudinal and lateral speed, heading, pitch and bank; works also in windy conditions; automatic activation below 25 Knots IAS, so does not influence the aircraft's flight characteristics in normal flight; adds an autohover/autopilot function. Requires prior installation of FSUIPC. By Rob Barendregt.

Hmmm....makes me jealous seeing all these RXP users. I bought the RXP 430 and 530 a couple years ago...and they NEVER worked right. Installation after uninstallation....ctd's, lack of support, etc....decided to give up on them. But they are nice to have since they function very much like the real ones

Take a look around Flightsim and Avsim for FSGarmin530 and FSGarmin430. Both used to be payware and were then released as freeware. While they are a bit older than RXP and you can't get WAAS with them functionality is exactly like the real thing. I have had a GNS430 in my PA28-181 and now have a GNS530 in the PA32-301.
I sometimes find myself looking for the mouse in the airplane subconsciously to switch freqs or modify a flight plan :D

I also used to have a wind direction gauge I used to use in CFS2, long lost, anyone any suggestions for a replacement?

Jaime, I use a Wind drift gauge (TWI windrift?) that I got a FlightSim that will show wind direction as well has having a pointer that will show your heading in relation to the the wind drift. Really helpfull in some of our No GPS events.

Willy, I'll go a lookin', cheers, though there would have to be something.

Ed, that one looks interesting, will give it a go too.

Having gremlins with my computer, Photoshop can't open files, any of them. Browser boots me to what looks like an OH maintenance is happening page (http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/resize) whenever I try to read a thread, loads the thread then immediately kicks me to the screen. I have to 'stop the page to read any threads. Has been happening since the OH was down for updates, strangely enough a 'worm' warning popped up before OH came back on-line, have we been attacked?
