German Side at Duxford 2009

Indeed, I went especially for the FW190 (along with a couple of Sea Furys). To see it in formation with the Buchon was an added bonus:

Hmm, can't view it because "this video has content from Soni Music Entertainment, it's no longer available in your country". :isadizzy:

i hope the Buchon and FW190 are at RIAT this year, seeing as it is the largest Military Airshow, and it is 70 years since the Battle of Britain... imagine the formation, Spitfire, Hurricane, FW190 and the Buchon... :jump:

Yep, not viewable in Germany....

But remembering the Flugwerk FW-190, Me-109E, B-17 Pink Lady, Spitfire and P-40 all in the sky at once over the Hahnweide with the germans birds running at the B-17 followed closely by the allied fighters is pretty good, too!

Thanks for the link VCN, I really enjoyed the video. When the Buchon and FW190 are both on the runway you can clearly see how small the BF109 actually was!
It was funny to see the "French" FW190 has historical tail-markings on the tail in the UK, while it doesn't have these markings when flown on the continent...

Huub

Huub, I think the swastika is a decal, not painted. A few weeks later when the French FW-190 visited lelystad the swastika was no longer on the tail but you can still clearly see where it was:

BTW A repaint of a Butcher Bird with the eagle on the nose would be nice.. :engel016:

VCN-1 thanks for the link. Most interesting to see the 190, particularly in the air.:applause::applause:

JMHO here, but, I think the continent needs to get over itself and let history stand as history stood. PC be damned.

Saw the 190 from the press enclosure. Impressive to see...and the sound of the engine...

Impressive picture Adam :salute:.
Wish I had such a picture of those two. The main problem for me was everything happening at the same time at Duxford...aircraft starting their engines, taxing, taking off, landing...If I would have wanted to have a picture of everything...I'd have to clone myself and my camera gear...was still getting used to the then-brand new telephoto lens and panning, something I had never done before.

Let's hope most aircraft return this year (and hopefully even more...I'd really like a Hellcat, Lightning, Jug,...). Too bad Grumpy (a B-25D) went to the US or Canada (see this month's Flypast magazine).
