Germanys only airworthy DC-3 made a crash landing today

No chance of getting the bird home safely as the engine failed shortly after takeoff.

Fortunately, there were just seven injuries; none life-threatening.

While the loss of an irreplaceable aircraft is a terrible thing, the loss of human life would have been worse.

Sad news indeed!

But thanks to Tim, this gal stays alive at least for us:

I wonder where the rudder damage comes from?

I'll definately miss the sound of the two Twin Wasps above my head...

Good news is that no one got killed, but indeed a very sad loss for german classic aviation.

It still was one of my dreams to take a trip over Berlin with this thing one day! I will have to bury that dream now, I guess...

Regards
Alex
