Landclasses are sets of digital data (numbers) indicating the kind of terrain at a specific place (forest, field, rocks, urban etc.). If I'm not mistaken, Fscene and Birdseye are texture sets, Megascenery is a photographic overlay.

The only landclasses I know for the whole US are Fsgenesis and Ultimate Terrain which are complementary. I wouldn't even think of flying there without them.

There are very impressive landclasses in Holger Sandman's Misty Fjords and its free companion Glacier Bay (Alaska). His free Columbia Gorge are quite a thing too.

I also use two good freeware sets for northern Israel.

Yep, pretty much as Dominique mentioned. . .the products you mention aren't landclass. The only ones (payware) that I'm aware of are the ongoing landclass project at FSGenesis and UT. There are many self made landclass files available via AVsim and flightsim.com and others and many are quite good. I don't use them as a rule because I rarely fly in a specific area over and over again enough to be concerned with how exacting the rivers/coastlines/city and town placement, etc are. Seems kinda silly to me to purchase or even download something like that so it looks correct for the 10 minutes I might spend in that area before heading off somewhere else.

And just as a disclaimer. . .this is my opinion based on my type of flying and is in no way a general condemnation of those who do religiously use landclass or see a great value in said files or their use.:isadizzy:

OK, so I got my nomenclature cross-wired, thanks for helping out on that. TEXTURE is what I'm trying to get at, I need some good quality texture.

Can anyone tell me anything in regards to my original question as it pertains to Texture....anyone, anyone.....Beauuuuuhler?

Ultimate Terrain and Ground Environment Pro...

(Ultimate Terrain has special night textures I would not live without, special urban textures, new roads and railroads, and special parks-and-golf-courses landclasses with their own textures, so even though Ultimate Terrain is not a texture-enhancement addon, it nonetheless counts enthusiastically...)

VOZ.
It's Australia specific but will cross over into other regions with excellent results.
Best VOZ regional settings are the two South-Coast areas.
A word of warning, VOZ does not play nice with other add-0ns.
