GLSman error code

highpockets

SOH-CM-2025
I have been unable to add the Marshall Island gsl nor the Gilberts gsl to my USN 42. I get an error code "access violation at address , etc, etc. Any ideas??

Cheers HP!

Both work well for me in the re-do of the Essex campaign T am currently working, Suggest you double-check the folders' positioning in your Scenery Library.

They are not even in the library yet. I was just in the process of activating the gobs. The GSLMAN may be malfunctioning.

Highpockets,

Looks like a file access permissions issue from the message you're seeing. Did you install CFS2 in the default "programs" folder? MS won't let you change stuff there....

or

Are you trying to run GSLman whilst CFS2 is running? You cant change the gsl "on the fly", you have to exit the sim first.

Neither UncleTgt. I was not in the sim. I did not intend to install in the CFS2 default. I will check..
Never has happened to me before and I have about 6 different CFS 2 installs. I will let you know what I find my error is.
Thanks

My USN 42 is a clean install of the 87days of Cactus installed on D dirve in a folder named CFS 2 USN 42. I started the sim but if I tried to fly a mission, I get the message "Can't open scenery layer file gsl\cfs 2gsl for rendering".

Somehow the cfs2.gsl got corrupted.:banghead: Reinstalled that file, gobs activated and now up and running ready to get my scenery in proper order in USN 42.:jump: Always a mystery for me. For some reason, I always have a brain freeze.
The scenery.cfg file is opposite the scenery library file in the top to bottom. Never know when instructions say "below". Assuming "below" whatever in the order in the scenery library.

Jim,

I write all my instructions as though you are looking at the CFS2 scenery library screen.

So yes, Below means Below...

Not enough people mess with the scenery.cfg text file with Notepad these days, it's just another reason for someone not to bother trying to install add-on scenery ...

Thanks for the instructions. I know there is some wonderful scenery out there that you and others have done. I have not been able to do much sim for some time. I am ready to tackle cleaning up some of my older installs and work with some new "stuff".
