Go ahead lads, throttle me!

I for one enjoy your sound sets immensely Nigel even in their current form. If those new method sets are even better I can hardly wait to try them out. Since you chose the R2800 as test subject I'll be sure to put on a few more hours on the C-46 to be sure.
Btw....you would not happen to have R3350 sounds laying around somewhere to produce a full range set to fill out our Lockheed Constellations ????

Cheers
Stefan

I tried adding a notch of null to the throttle axis but that made it worse, instead of getting 99% max and 1% fully back I got 2 % back and 97% full. It's realy strange cause I get 100% full and minimum 0% for the no. 1 mixture axis but thats the only one and if you check the sensitivies their all set exactically the same.
I went through all my other flight sims and tested them, CFS1, CFS2 .CFS3 ,IL2 ,IL2 Forgotton Battles+Aep , First Eagles1 and BOBII and they all produce 100, or in the case of IL2 and IL2 Forgotton Battles 110 % and 0 % min.
So it's only FS9 that doesn't produce full 100% power unless I hit F4 then you can see the throttle or prop go forword just a hair to make 100%, same fully back, in the case of twins the no2 mixture will still shut down the no 2 engine even though it just goes to 1 % min.
As I said only the no1 mixture goes to 100% max and 0% min and there is no difference in the way the sensitvites are set up, and only in FS9.In the case of 4 engine I just use the throttle on the CH Yoke to evenly controll all engines, (i don't bother with shutting down one engine to practice emergensys ,and for jets I do have to hold the brakes or hit f1 to shut down the engine other wise the plane will creep forword.

You said somewhere in an earlier post that you calibrate before each FS session. Is that calibration taking place in the CH products program, in FS/Windows or using FSUIPC (registered version only) ???
One may override the other, negating the tests you have made. For example FSUIPC will definitely override the regular FS/Windows calibration to some extent.

Stefan

I calibrate in the Ch control manager

I have the unregistered version of Fusupic and do all my calibration in the CH control manager.Since FS9 is the only sim that has Fusupic maybe your on to something as this is the only sim I can't get 100% power or o% minimum in the throttle, mixture( except the no1 mixture) and prop.If thats the case I'll just have to live with it.

Good call Sunny, I was just about to suggest FSUIPC as a possible solution for Hurricane. Getting the registered version doesn't cost many pennies, and it does provide a lot of extra functionality; I find it worthwhile, just for the throttle calibration control it gives me.

Thanks guys

Thanks for telling me about getting the registered version,I'll look into buying the registered version as soon as I can scrape together a few more pennies, right now I have to save every penny I can ,so as soon as possible I'll get the registed version.

One more thing you can try...

Step one: MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF YOUR FS9.CFG!!!

Step two: Open your fs9.cfg and search (F3 in Notepad) for throttle. Find the line that reads "AXIS_EVENT_nn=AXIS_THROTTLE_SET" and then scroll down two lines to the null setting for that axis. If it's set to 1, try changing it to zero and see if that helps.

Think I'll wait

I think I'll hold off on changeing the config file Tom ,truthfully it makes me a bit nervious even if I did back up the file. I would not only have to change the throttle setting but also the mixture and prop settings as well. I'll print out your directions in case I get up enough courage to try it ,but for now since all I'am talking is 1% either way and it is really only a problem with jets as they have a tendency to creep forword unless I hold them with brakes ,I'll leave it alone.
But thankyou Tom for the idea ,I just might try it one of these days.
