Going to treat myself to a new sound card...

But it has to be compatible with the CS130 Herc (remember the sound gauge issues with some audio cards?)
Presently using the partly on-board Blackhawk but it uses cpu resources which I want to reduce. Any suggestions?

interesting...

I've been looking for a new card with hardware sound processing, the only ones I've found were Soundblasters, something-or-other titaniums, the extremes are not on board processed.

Looking forward to the tech guys replies.

X-Fi's, that was them, Amazon has the Titanium's for @£60. Cheers Andy. Ikeep buying other stuff and the soundcard gets bumped to the back burner as usual.

My systems have had Soundblaster X-Fi cards. They work great with everything I have. Some games even have extra features that only work with these or compatible cards.

I use a Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional, I find it an absolutely superb card for both gaming and multimedia.

This is a very good gaming card but it is absolutely awful for music. So if you are borderline audiophile I would suggest looking at a X-Fi Titanium HD instead of the Fatal1ty. It is supposed to be MUCH better.

I cannot stand listening to music on my Fatal1ty. My little FiiO E7 puts out way better sound.

JUst a FYI, according to A2A, my Titanium is the reason my PC crashes everytime I try and fly the B17 or P47 with Accusim.
