'Good old times' in rFactor.

Been playing around with a few 'must-have' mods for rFactor lately:

Splendid...

Just look at those wheels!
But not even Jeremy Clarkson would dare do what you did to the 250!

I've been very taken by the 1976 Formula 2 and Formula Atlantic mods Ferry.
Still bouncing my way round DiRT2, experimenting with the lighting and scenery, which is rather an interesting exercise.

I didn't push him either!!
The visibility (or lack of!) is making DiRT2 much harder to drive from the interior as well as using the manual shift and clutch.
It certainly makes for a better challenge.

GTR Evo and the weather options are another area I find interesting as well.

Haven't touched DiRT2 in a while; I've been too busy with other sims. I still love F1-2010 but the lack of a decent challenge from the AI made me loose interest a bit. So far I've won seven out of the eight races in the second season with the AI set to 'legend'. (Though I have to admit I have the tire simulation turned off due to the ridiculous amount of puntures!). The only race I didn't win was Malaysia and this was because of a monsoon shower halfway through the race. I had the car set up for a dry race because there was only a 10% chance of rain..

Anyway, here's a nice car for a short race; it's a lot harder than it looks to achive four digit speeds!:

Back in GTR2 I now have this Lotus Evora:

Which isn't a great mod to drive to be honest, but also this Lotus 2-Eleven which is a true trackday special!:

Dave, you can find rFactor here: http://www.rfactor.net/

And a lot of mods here: http://www.rfactorcentral.com/index.cfm

But rFactor 2 is just round the corner: http://rfactor2.org/

The Lotus screenshots are in a game called GTR2 by Simbin, but I doubt it is still available anywhere; there latest games GTR Evolution and Race On! should be easier to find:

http://www.gtr-evolution.com/

http://www.race-game.org/raceon/

Both are basically Simbin 'Race07' with various mods included.

Another good starting point to expand GTR2/GTR Evo/Race On/rFactor/etc. is this site:

http://www.nogripracing.com/

DiRT2 has been out for quite some time, and DiRT3 is underway.

Dave, as Ferry mentioned, we are supposed to see 'rFactor 2' and 'DiRT 3' this year, but being a cynic I'm not holding my breather.

DiRT 2 is readily available for the PC and now that the 'new' factor has worn off it's going at some pretty good discounts, up to 50% off in some outlets.

I can't recall the exact price of rFactor (around A$39.00 IIRC) but it is very reasonable and if you purchased the download 'Lite' version you have a simple set-up with which to add all the great Mods around for free.

Get both .......... :jump:
