Goodnight Merlin

Charter Member 2012
Tonight we had to say goodbye to a dear member of our family - Merlin, 1995-2010. Rest in peace, handsome boy - we love you.

Sorry to hear that Ghostrider. Beautiful little guy, and I feel for ya. RIP Merlin.

Thanks guys, and yes, he went very peacefully. He told us it was his time, we held him, and and he purred right up to the very end.

Ghostrider,

Sorry to hear that Merlin has passed. He had a long life (yet it is never long enough).

He's waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. I look forward to the day when I reunite with all my kitties (dogs too!). In the meantime, I give LOTS of love to all my cats, and my beloved "Chief" too!

Pete

It's never easy to lose a pet. :( My condolences.

I'm glad you got to hold him until the end - I was away when my cat of 18 years, Whiskers, passed away. I've always regretted I wasn't there for her when she passed. :(

I am very sorry to hear of your loss..
I understand, the bond that can form between an owner and their Pet..
I hope you shall be well..
God Bless you and your family..

I really really hate these threads. Losing a much loved critter kid is never an easy thing to experience, nor are reading threads about such losses. Always reminds me of my dearly departed Spud (doggie in my avatar) and the unavoidable fact that at some point in time, hopefully many many years from now, my two doggies, Brutus and Hazel, will depart this world and cross the Rainbow Bridge. I really hate having to give that fact even a moments thought.

Ghostrider, sorry for your loss. I am sure Merlin had a wonderful life and carried all the love you gave him with him as he crossed the Bridge.

I hope that Merlin meets Spud over there....Spud loves cats and will keep an eye on Merlin for you.

OBIO

That's the lesson, for us all to be sure to treasure every moment with these little guys and gals, and the people in our lives, every day, and take nothing and no one for granted.

Obio, I'm sure those two are busy bouncing each other even now -

Merlin was the only Kitty I ever saw play "fetch"!

There's a Five for Fighting lyric that says "The endings are never, ever happy - it's the happy moments along the way, that in the end make it okay."

Thoughts and prayers -- my 16 year old cat Amelia sitting on my lap, I'll give her some pets for Merlin.
