Google Sketch Up...

Anybody try this? I just downloaded it... It is very very neat. I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to 3D design, but this makes it relatively easy to learn. Makes it nice because I am planning on redesigning my living room... with this, I can sort of see how it will look before I do anything...

Has anyone else played around with this?

And.... Is it possible to convert the 3d objects made in this program with FS? I doubt it, But if so... Man this would make building scnerey quite interesting for me...

Yeah! It's really easy to use, and there are a lot of neat features I'm just now discovering. Google 3D warehouse has free models to play around with. I think the Pro version allows you to save your models as 3dsMax files which can then be ported into Gmax and compiled for FS.

You guys really need to get out of the "Outhouse" once in awhile! Arno's "Model Converter X" has been able to convert for FSX since last week...

Did you check the latest version of ModelConverterX? It can read the COLLADA DAE or Google Earth KMZ files that Sketchup 7.1 can export and allows you to convert them to FSX MDL files. There are still a few rough edges that I am working on, but for most objects it works quite good already.

Sidney Schwartz is releasing a set of hanger objects he's created with Sketchup and converted to FS scenery .bgl files... :)
