Granpappy's Clutch Cargo Data

My misstake

Yep, Rob it was an over sight on my part. I for some reason thought the max of 15,000 was on the first flight. After checking I saw it was on all flights North of Peru and after that goes to 17,500. The livestock in the back really hates 15,000 feet anyway.

SERB to SETM

I got so involved with navigating a updraft took me over 15,000.

When, if you haven't already flown to Camilo remember to increase your mixture from auto lean to some thicker fuel. I didn't and my engines started to run ruff almost stopped. The field elevation is pretty low compared to the other fields.

Granpappy, if you're flying with a Sperry (or similar vintage autopilot) you might look at the detailed rules for "momentary" altitude violations.

Momentary altitude violations

We make a special concession to encourage those who wish to fly with a vintage autopilot. If you are flying with a vintage Sperry or Lear autopilot, or any one without a "set target altitude" fea-ture, you need to leave a larger margin of error as the aircraft can drift upwards. If you fly with such equipment for the entire route, we will allow two (2) "momentary" altitude violations with-out cost.6

Not sure if this makes a difference or not, but the first 2 violations were my fault. That is due to ignorance. This last flight was a momentary oops. In order to clear a 13,800 foot peak I decided to climb to 14,800 feet. Before I new it I was just over 15,000 feet. I use the default Sperry that comes with the MAAM C47. I like the old stuff. I will abide by what you decided.

Larry, just keep track of your "momentary violations" of this sort. At the end of the event, just note which ones were of this type...and Miss Nellie will gladly grant you two bits of amnesty.

SPHZ to SPNC

Not sure at all as to what happen to the RTW. As I closed everything down then went back to retrieve it in the OUTLOOK folder it only had the stats from this morning. Any ideas? I know I started it.

somethings wrong

Something is wrong with Duenna. This time I left it running up so a can see it. During my take off from SPNC (gravel) the tail wasn't even up yet when Duenna went red. 2 of the boxes were totally red, the "ON-Ground" and "GS less that 5 kts" were block in in red. Duenna work fine for all the rest of the flights up to now. Let me know if I need to do something.
Thanks

SPNC to SPVI

Started off and the same thing happened. Duenna went red for no reason. Hope the following will work for you.

Larry,

This is both easy and hard.

First, the Duenna will flash red as you transition from being on the ground to being airborne. No problem--this is normal. The Duenna will be perfect.

Second, your last flight (from SPHZ toward SPNC) shows that you had a good Duenna for 28 minutes--and then it stops recording your progress. I cannot tell from the recording what happened there. There is no detailed log file available.

(See http://fs-duenna.com/flights/ShowFlight.php?flight=QUZ9rkWMbj2jkkTk2Dj7a2jA0IQ )

There is no record at all of your SPNC-SPVI leg. Hmmm. Might you think about doing a test to see if you can make it work again. (You certainly had it in good shape for your legs up until now. Maybe something got changed by accident.)

BTW, it is nice to see RealEngine at work!

I think I might know what the problem is with Duenna. I will check it on the next flight and let you know. I took a pic of SLLP's runway just to show I was there.
