Graphics Aperture Size

I was reading in my motherboard book, and there are settings I can change for the video card. Default is set at 64mb. There are settings of 64, 128 and 256mb. My video card has 512mb onboard. Question is, would it be beneficial for me to change aperture size?

The settings here would apply to the integrated video of the motherboard. If you are using an add on video card the integrated video should be disabled and the aperture size redundant.

Regards, Mike Mann

Now i'm lost because my manual says nothing about having onboard video. I haven't changed anything and default aperture size is set to 64mb?

Hello Mike, and thanks for helping me out here.

The link you gave me sums up the picture now as a whole. The sites and forums I was reading had people responding so much it was hard to follow. Different answers a many. Going based on the information there, my video card with 512mb of memory would benefit from settings from 128mb to 256mb aperture size (supposedly). I do have issues with stutters, so I will experiment with the bios settings. My machine is less than desirable for anything FSX. I just want to try to get a bit of smoothness with my frames locked at 20 so I can least enjoy the aircraft I fly more.

Thanks for your help
