Graphics Card Advice - Please help!

Hi Ya'll,

I have come across an awesome opportunity to upgrade my computer, and was wondering what would be a good graphics card with 1 GB of power? I have Win 7 32 bit, 4 GB RAM, 3.0 GHz CPU and most importantly, a 700 Watt power supply. My current graphics card is a Nvidia 9600GT, with 512Mb of power. What would be a good graphics card (Preferably DX11) for running FSX? I would appreciate any input here :) :salute:

The biggest issue you have is your 32 bit operating system. If you go bigger then a 512 meg card you may start having memory issues, If you need to go to a 1 gig card id get win7 64 bit, it will give you access to all your ram, and remove most of the memory issues.

That's one of the reasons I am sticking with my 8800GT. I have 4GB of RAM and Win XP 32 bit, but without the 3GB switch, FSX would crash after flying for over 1 1/2 hours. I fear that going to a new card, all of which seem to come with 1GB or more of video RAM, will cause FSX to run out of memory as 32 bit operating systems cannot adequately handle more than 4 GB of RAM in total. FSX really doesn't use the GPU that much, so I feel I'm not really missing out on much by keeping my old 512 MB 8800GT.
