• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Grass textures

Hi all,
Does anyone know of ant new grass textures that are more realisic.Happy if they are part of a full texture package.Must be freeware though.

I use the freeware ones that I believe the REX team put out. I might be dreaming here though.
 
There are some high resolution grass sets on Avsim if you search for 'ground detail', They look amazing when sat on the grass but maybe not so much on the move.
 
Buddha13, I used the Natural Point grass textures and loved the close up look of the grass. One thing I forgot, this changes the look of the ground when flying above 500 feet. As you progress the ground had a different color and this distortion advance as you travel and receeds behind you. I posted the problem here and thankfully Panther remembered the high resolution grass textures cause the problem. Anyway I removed them and all looks great again.
