Greg Pepper has passed away.

I am saddened to hear this. We conversed a bit way back when his first plane came out. His Grumman Albatross (V1.0) and I did some updated flight dynamics for it.

I loved his Convairs and Douglases... :engel016:

I can't tell you all how sad I am to see Greg pass away. I never got the chance to meet him or talk to him, yet whenever I look at one of his planes I feel like something very big is gone.

So, I felt the least I could do for Greg Pepper was to put together a video dedicated to his life and the planes that he and so many of us had a passion for. I hope that this small token of appreciation does his amazing planes justice.

That's a beautiful tribute you made for such a special guy.

Very sorry to hear of Greg's passing. I think just about everybody in flight sim has one or more of his planes in their hangars, especially the classic DC-7. After watching RedGreen's tribute video I clicked on this one that features Greg's FS2002 DC-7:

The creator did a super job combining FS2002 with Poser animated figures.
Wish I had skills to do that kind of stuff.

I never knew Greg personally and now sadly I never will, I do however have enough of his flightsim models to have nothing but respect for him. May his memoery live long, flying on our computer screens, or in our minds.

Another great one gone. My sympathies to his family. He will be missed in the simulator skies.

not only as a flight simmer but as a cancer survivor this hits hard. I know he will be missed by all and my prayers go out to his family.............

I feel deeply saddened by the news of Greg's sudden departure. I have never been in contact with him in any way but his wonderful propliners have always inspired me a great deal. Greg was a great modeler and he will be sorely missed especially in the propliner department.

My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends and especially to his friend Tom Gibson who also means a lot to the propliner fans because of his work with Greg.

Sometimes our beloved virtual blue skies are darkend by things going on in the real world. This is one of those days....

Rest In Piece, Greg. Thank you so much for your beautiful models and great inspiration.

Hours of enjoyment

I just want to thank Greg for the hours of enjoyment I have had from his work. His DC-7 opened a whole new era up to me as an aviation enthusiast.

God Bless and God Speed

Never knew the man, but I benefited from his work. I hope that both he and his family will be at peace.

I downloaded the HU-16 Albatross. I found it while searching Flightsim.com for the word Grumman. After downloading almost 55mb of files and then trying to figure out how to put it all together, I was ripping my hair out and almost tossed it in the crapper. After about 20 minutes of messing with it I finally figured it all out. I loaded it up in the sim. The paints were very real. The 2D panel was excellent. I started her up and went outside for a 360* view. I was impressed. Down the runway I went. 1/2 flaps.....lift off. What a graceful bird in the sky. I like it.

Being entirely new to this communiy and the flightsim in general, I'm learning to respect and enjoy everyone and everything related to it more and more. Thank-You all.

Now a few words for Mr. Greg Pepper.

Along the way to destiny, we sail high and free.
.....Our wings of passion in the skies, for where we venture is no surprise. We are free.

One with the clouds, the warmth, high in the sky in the place we love.
.....I come to you now with my head up high, knowing soon I'll die.

I'll soar to eternity. With the eagle.... for I'm free.

Fly high and far Mr. Pepper

Very sad indeed. My condolences to his family and friends.

Good memories come back when i think of Gregs Beech 18. It was the very aircraft that ignited the fire in me to spend more time in FS. It was the first a/c that i repainted and most of all: flying his Beech 18 in Nepal and the Rockies was the start of what became a great passion for backcountry- and bushflying.

Greg, thank you for that. You may rest in peace forever and ever.

Yours,

A pioneer of the flight sim community, I am most saddened to hear of Greg's passing.

My sincere condolences to his family and personal friends. God speed Greg.
