GSL Mediterranean Ports - Part I released!

Wow! Rami,

Fantastic work there, a lot of effort and looks really good.

Cheers

Shessi

...who needs FSX!!??? ;)

Congratulations Rami, you seem to have the ability to turn this wonderful stuff out faster than I can read the updates! Top man indeed.

Graham.

Good morning,

This was another one that I want to give credit to Dombal for starting. There are some limitations here, because CFS2's landclass doesn't represent the harbor entrances to the lakes correctly, so I had to improvise. You wouldn't really catch it unless you looked at Google Earth like I did.

This is the Port for Tunis, known as the town of La Goulette, and a cityscape for the city of Tunis itself.

Good afternoon,

Even better news...Captain Kurt has assured me that this scenery will not interfere in any way with the 82nd Fighter Group, in fact, it should add some nice eye candy for mission five.

Nice work, Rami!

Before too long CFS2 is going to look better on the ground than FS2004 or FSX with all the great work you scenery guys are doing!

Good morning,

I completed Bejaia, Algeria this morning. :applause:

I will upload some pictures this evening.

Good morning,

Here are the promised pics of Bejaia. Please note that Shadow Wolf 07 pointed out that my trees were too neat and orderly around the pier. I guess that was expected when you hire Jewish architects from Del Boca Vista.

(A prize is available for those who can explain that joke)

Good evening,

So far, the original Mediterranean ports of Bejaia, Bone, Tunis, Benghazi, Derna, and Tripoli.

I still have to revise Alexandria and Palermo from the original package, as well as Trieste. Then there are the new ones.

Good morning,

Palermo is getting close...my biggest dilemma is deciding what to do regarding the "upper" harbor and breakwater. The land class and shorelines simply don't match. I was able to represent the "lower" harbor pretty accurately, though it's not finished yet.

If you look at Palermo in Google Earth you'll see why I'm a little stuck.

Lee,

Yeah...I've got the harbor reasonably close, I just won't do the "upper" harbor. I may have this finished by this evening. Then I'll need to fix some issues with my MTO install.

Good morning,

I finished Palermo, Sicily and have moved on to Trieste, Italy. This is the final stop for the old GSL scenery.

For Devildog73...Tuskegee-related

Devildog73,

I hope you don't mind, but the last whistle stop on my MTO scenery revamp tour before I continue building some new ports is Trieste, Italy. You used this in the "Destroyer Attack" mission of the Tuskegee campaign. (It's in Part IV) Using Google Earth's "time machine," I have satellite photographs of the harbor at that time. I kept your fortress and redid the oil refinery, but the biggest change so far is that I revamped the "upper" harbor to reflect the 1943 era, including the rail yard.

I'll continue around the "horn" of Trieste and do the lower harbor as well...and then create a cityscape before I turn it into GSL. There's still a little work to do on the French Riviera, but after that it should all be finished, as far as Tuskegee is concerned.

Here are some screenshots thus far...
