It was cool. What great stories. He went to a reunion a few years back with American/German aces. Those stories were really great! His mind is still very sharp and doesn't need glasses at all! :( It was a true honor to meet this man.

I saw the "Shenandoah Division Offices" sign in the background and I knew that VMT uses the old N&W Shenandoah Division office building. :) One of my other hobby pursuits is trains.

If you are ever in town during the week, stop on in! You'll love it.

Don, I've been to VMT once on a bus tour with some of my model train friends. It's a nice museum. We also visited the O. Winston Link Museum in the old N&W station. BTW, has Norfolk Southern returned the 611 and 1218 yet?

You must have been there about three years ago. They just borrowed them for their celebration, which lasted about a month, I believe. They are right outside every day now. :) Lots has changed since you were there, and there is more to come. I just redesigned the aviation gallery and will be starting to build it shortly. It just keeps on getting better!!

Way cool Don, great story and thanks a heap for the links.

Are you going to the RV event August 14th? I think I may come up, but it'll have to be a quick trip, I'll have to leave by 2:00 to 3:00, as some of my old classmates are gathering that evening in Yanceyville for a gathering with a classmate in from Texas that weekend.

Caz

Hey Caz. Yep, I will be there. VMT sponsors some of the trophy packages, so it would be a good idea for me to show up! See you there!! Just like old times again, except without the competition! ;)
