Cool! Only seen them once, but it was quite a show.

You better go watch. They got lame for about ten years, but this year the incoming commander really amped things up. They perform a loop on takeoff right now. Mind you, not like the blue angels where they must gather speed; the thunderbirds go directly into a loop after they rotate.

Yes those guys are great. In all the years I worked Wings Over Houston the Thunder Birds were the best. Also much easier to work with than the Blue Angels.

Well, for example, for the Blue Angels to fly at Wings over Houston we had to have white makings on both sides of the runway. Their minimum weather requirements for flying were much stricter than the Thunderbirds. Each pilot had to have his own car. And they just seemed more aloof than the Thunderbirds. But they put on a good show.
