GUNSIGHT EXPERT(S) REQUIRED:

Hi all! Got foolin' around with alternate gunsights today. I'm colourblind so I have to pick very carefully what with the different scenery background colours and all.

Found one I really like, tried it in QC and it's a dandy.......except it's a tad large! Does anybody know what program to use to shrink it down properly (without losing it's transparency) from say 100 to 85% while retaining it's original integrety? OR if I use paint, for example, how do I get paint to maintain that transparency after I've messed with the gunsight?

These are the culprits, in particular #'s 1 & 2

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Cheers!:bump:

A1: You must open the bmp with Martin Wright's Dxtbmp available at his site for free.

http://www.btinternet.com/~mnwright/

Pay close attention to the instructions by Martin, you can export it directly to paint, edit it and reload it. you MUST save it in its original bmp format.

Also you must center it so that the center of the smaller image overlays EXACTLY the center of the larger image.

Good Luck, welcome to the wonderful world of modding.

My motto - "I refuse to use any game or sim which can not be modded!" :salute:

Thanks Guys....

this'll certainly help, Psully! I'm gonna get ma wee feet wet shortly!......AGAIN! :isadizzy:

Gawd......lately I've put myself right in harm's way...............so much to learn, so little time.....

Working on dp's, Model converter, now this! Thanks for the welcome, heh-heh! More important, thanks for the heads up.

Collin, I tried the swapper tool, but it sets up everything in the original CFS2 install which I don't want......I need it in all my others. I liked the sights but when I tried to copy what it did into my other installs......no joy. Thanks just the same.

Careful Planning

..Good idea, SC.....time to smell the coffee a wee. Thanks for that...

Ha !

Living alone with 2 Jack Russels and a bunch of barn cats, it's rarely dull around here. But Iowa is gonna get NAILED again this Winter, so I started prepping early.

Went to Barnes and Noble to grab some decent reading material [WWII air war history, natch]... changed the batteries in ALL my UPS's so the comps will work with the power off... even paid the DsL bill ahead of time for once.

Bring on the snow. Who knows ? I MIGHT even learn SCASM this year ! :jump:

Stay warm, y'all !
