Guy Boullenger's Milne Bay campaign

That's just the designed "surprise" outcome of the first mission based on an actual event that occurred involving a P-40 ace in the historical campaign. You're supposed to experience what it was like to suffer a non-fatal engine failure on takeoff for a mission. The hidden goal is to safely land your sick bird 'dead-stick' in a nearby field, wheels down, then exit the mission. You can then proceed to the next mission.
 
I am glad he (and hopefully we :) ) get to walk away from that one. Any Landing you survive is a good landing :)

:) Nothing to be embarrassed about...when the camp was first released, most of us were in your shoes, scratching our heads to figure out the "problem". After a few grins, Guy finally came online to tell us what the deal was.
 
What a surprise that mission was. Too bad Guy moved on to other interests as his mission building was something special.
