H6K5,JMK_pensacola

looking for these files:H6K5 (type1) and JMK_pensacola(type5)

The JMK_Pensacola is an Usio ship and HIS site is down.Members of the comunity are talking about uploading all his work on SOH.

There is an :H6K5 here at SOH I believe.

I am trying to play cfs2 specifically the carrier_war_usn from Talon mission set..
When I look up the first mission in the mission builder I still get the following message after inserting the JMK_Pensacola file in the ship folder: model”JMK_Pensacola(type5)” isn’t found in the object data base.
What am I missing?

Odd, I just looked into Talon's missions and he included the VN_Pensacola in his ships, not JMK_Pensacola from Usio. Then his mission 1 actually calls for Usio's.

You have to make sure that what is called for in the mission is the EXACT name as what is in the ship cfg.
I do mean EXACT, no variables at all.

My guess is that Usio's Pensacola PANEL and SOUND folders are totally empty. If they are empty put a notepad txt file in each and save them as panel and sound or dummy or something.
CFS2 doesn't like empty folders.

I suggest you get Morton's Utility for adding planes and checking aircraft and ships.

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/local_links.php?catid=49&sort=U&page=2&pp=20

about half way down the page: mk_cfs2_util_v2.zip

With it, you can substitute out aircraft and ships for any missions and campaign missions.

Absent doing the above, I suggest you copy the ship name in the ship.cfg and paste it into your mis files, which is an utter pain. Morton's utility is much easier.

Carrier War USN 001.mis

[unit_type.6]
type_id=6290
unit_family=5
name=JMK_Pensacola becomes VN_PENSACOLA

Why are you trying to play it in MB?

Play it straight up in the CFS2.exe instead of the mission builder and see if it works better for you.
Mission Builder looks at the descript.dat and mdlnames.txt for objects.
Did you list JMK_Pensacola in both files?

Usio set up his Battleships and cruisers as carriers in the dp file.

In the dp file change the MISC_DATA to this.

[MISC_DATA]
unit_family=5
category=14
allegiance=4
min_speed=0
cruise_speed=30
max_speed=60
entered_service=6/2/1930

Delete the CDP and it should work in the mission.
