Handley Page Halifax Mk BII Series 1 for CFS2

Hi Folks,
As promised to UT (and would I ever forget the 'boys in the back room'!! ;)), An early model of an HP Halifax Mk BII series 1, heavy RAF night bomber. Based on the CFS3 Halifax, kindly allowed by Ted for me to bash it about.

Along with the Fs9 version, I've made a specific CFS2 one, good of FRs, with all the usual CFS2 tweaks and requirements, I've also done an AI version for mass raids.

With the testers as we speak...close to uploading.

Many thanks for your effort on this....this is one of those British bombers that has really been lacking in CFS2. We now have a good Lanc set, as well as early-period bombers. The Halifax, in its various incarnations, was in many ways what the Liberator was to the Flying Fortress.

You've got a great model here. I sent you some notes about airfile, weight, and fuel tweaks I made, but they were all relatively minor. She flies and handles well, and "feels right." We now have two Merlin-engined Halibags to put in the air...

Just uploaded the new HP Halifax BII.

Took Ted's model, built different/new engines for it, for an early version Halifax. Made it multi-LOD, new crew, new tex, new DP, loads of tweaks for CFS2. Put the Alphasim VC into the model.

Yes, thanks, glad you like it...

As I say the original main ac is down to the skill and kindness of Ted Nachtpiloten and John Bravo4, and wouldn't be here without them, thank you.

Unfortunately due to poly count I couldn't use the vc by Steve SDsBolt, so I had to put the Alphasim VC in, not too shabby though and goes with the 2D cockpit.

I built new engines, to make it the more common engined/radiatored BII, and made it multi-LOD, new crew, texs etc. FR's are not bad, and the AI version, which again is mainly down to Bis, allows mass raids.

A Mk BI is round the corner (really just no top turret, with side guns and new tex).

Thanks but I did not make the VC for this aircraft. All credit goes to Ted and John. Surprised the VC from the cfs3 model doesn't work as it seems to be much lower in polys than the Sunderland. Maybe I have an older model as the VC does not seem to be complete.

Nice work again. You wouldn't happen to be working in gmax would you?

Yes, I was surprised it didn't compile, but I tried everything..unfortunately I'm steam driven in FSDS..so very poly limited. The Alphasim vc is ok quality and does the job, but no where near your beaut of the Sunderland one. With the Sunderland, it's just great to have such a great model AND vc in CFS2!

Well there's probably not much point in learning gmax unless you have to. Would just make it more tempting for us to take some of your work. I am curious though are you getting the 3ds files and importing those into FSDS?
