Hangar Studios 713 Ascendance ATEA released!

Hangar Studios 17 has released the Ascendance ATEA, a hybrid fuel/electric VTOL that's going to be unveiled at the Paris Airshow this year and which will feature a full-scale simulator that uses this MSFS model for the simulation. It's only $5! Available now on the HS713 website (https://hangarstudios713.com/products/ascendance-atea) and coming to MSFS Marketplace. (Here's info on the real project.)

I've been really happy with HS713's previous planes and support (The Super Decathlon is one of my current favorite MSFS planes), so at $5 I couldn't resist. It's a fun fly! Definitely at least skim the manual so you can understand how the transition from VTOL to conventional flight works. It's a fun plane for landing in tight spaces, and you can also take off/land conventionally as well. Designed for 2020 but works perfectly in 2024.

Also couldn't pass up this gem at that price. First flight didn't last long, about 2 minutes and it CTD. No idea why so I went to bed and this morning tried again and flew for about 30 minutes. I like it!! Good speed so I don't get bored plodding along like in the Cub, lol
Just getting acquainted right now but it is fun to fly, and the view from the cockpit is great. It's a keeper!!

The PFD on the right seems strange, but the pics look well done. I might pick it up this weekend.

I don't know why this is happening but I'm going with my fix out of ignorance as to what else might be causing it. Aside from a few flights, every time I load this airplane and almost get airborne I get a CTD. So I looked at what else I had installed prior to or right after I installed the AETA. This morning I removed 10 airports I loaded right before I purchased this airplane. Loaded the AETA and set up at my local airport. I gave it a few minutes to crash if it was going to but all was well. Took off, flew around the city and then landed at another local airport and parked (engines running). About 5 minutes later I came back, took off and landed back at North Texas Regional. No problems.

aaaaand with the very next flight the CTD is back.

No CTDs here at all, so must be an interaction with another add-on? That’s a bummer.

The dev is amazing responsive on his Discord if you want to try to troubleshoot.

Yep, I've brought the problem up to him and I've had several replies with a long list of things that could cause this problem so I'm going down the list in an effort to weed out the culprit(s). This is a nice model and when I'm not getting a CTD it's very enjoyable to fly (and hover).

Maybe someone else can chime in on this: I read a post by someone who had a similar problem and narrowed it down to the "Map Enhancement App", and the selection to use the Bing Map textures over the Google Maps textures. When he turned off Bing Maps selection he no longer had any CTD problems. I tried that (opting to simply not use the Map Enhancement app at all) and I've been flying CTD free ever since. Just finished a flight from South Central Florida to Congo Town in the Bahamas (about 289nm I believe) in an hour and 45 minutes.

Despite the fact that I haven't had a CTD since I tried that fix I'm still skeptical that it's what really caused the CTD with this particular airplane. Reason being I've used the APP almost since I first started flying in MSFS 2020 and haven't had any problems at all flying multiple airplanes in all sorts of scenarios. . .until this one airplane. Hmmmmm!
