Harrier!

Its a fine line we walk between what we WANT to do, and what we CAN do. The P-38 had a birds nest of hydrolic lines in the back of the front well. Lets just say I had a really good photo I took that came in handy. Its good to know such small shortcuts are... acceptable, to a degree. There are just some details I never want to cut out, but in the wheen well I will. Only because 99% of the time its closed, and when its open, your more concerned with taking off or landing then looking up the skirt to see whats under. :ernae:
 
Very true Kevin. When I started modeling it was for FS and was taught early on to use textures for detail to help on performance. Then I got into CGI modeling where everything is modeled since you use render farms and detail/performance isn't a concern. Then onto different game engines were you have to pick and choose depending on the engine.

That is actually one of the reasons I love modeling for FSX, I can add a little more detail/more parts to a scenery object without the hit I would get with the same detail in FS9.

Looking forward to the harrier, it's my fav military jet!
 
The harrier in the youtube video, is it released, who developed it?
Looked at the site BVR but its in spanish or portugese.
Looked very nice
 
The Harrier in the video is under development by a BVR team, the leader designer is DAGA, and the model is near to be finished.

Fying AV8B+, with red and yellow colors and with the word Armada, it is Spanish, of course.
 
I'm not entirely sure, but, I think that it's for FS9. I MIGHT very well be wrong but the video is "coming" from a topic that has FS2004 in it... soooooo....

Plenty of room for another Harrier, KC....especially if you ever decide in the future to put your creative talents to the test and come up with a Sea Harrier.:bump:

The exterior model looks quite stunning.
Unfortunately the video doesn't show a vertical takeoff/landing, which is my main point-of-interrest for obvious reasons :)

But the video *does* show that flaps and nozzles aren't independantly controlled, as far as I can tell .
The designer that models this (IMHO ... essential and unique) feature the right way really has a winner .....

That also looks to be the Spanish version only (I could be mistaken, although I see no signs of an American AV-8B or a GR.7/9), and I'm sure the majority of the potential market will be wanting an American or British version. Don't get me wrong, I'll be snapping that Spaniard up as soon as it's available, but I still reckon it's worth continuing with the AV-8B and GR.9.

Very true....the spaniard will be awsome....but i feel if the obvious is left out.....boy will peeps complain. Any news of expected eta's for either of these projects
 
The only Spanish-only version of the Harrier was the older AV8S Matador, now in service in Thai navy. Nowadays the Spanish harrier is the same AV8B+ the US Marines and the Italian Navy fly, since the AV8B+ update was a common project. The only problem should be adding textures. The GR7 is really another model.

Anyway, the designs of the BVR are not commercial ones, up to date all of them are freeware. If this one becomes finally a pay model will be just to cover the costs.
