I ran across this on a motorcycle forum of all places and immediately thought to myself, "Self, this is too good to go un-noticed in the Out-House." Of course, I had to do that bit of thinking in between the wiping of tears from my eyes. Hey I only claim to be an old biker, I've never once said that I'm a tough old biker. Anyway here's the article, and even if it has been posted, I think the story is worthy of a re-post.

Great story and I'm glad you posted it.

Now off to see if there's a PV-2 Harpoon for FS!

Outstanding story...thank you...I had no idea there was so much humidity in the computer room...had to keep wiping my face

Being from Indiana, I've seen this aircraft numerous times throughout the years. I must admit it is not the first warbird I go looking for, maybe that will change. Great story !! Maybe that's the real reason some of these aircraft need to fly, instead of sitting behind ropes in some museum.

Yes I have read this before, but where I can't remember off hand. And yes. it brought on the misty eyes again just as it did before.

And I do know of Genesseo, New York as I've been there many times back in the late 60s and mid 70s. Genesseo was the home of the B-17 "Fuddy Duddy" for many years. And was my favorite haunt during my college days, and again when I worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY.

kep this up and I'll have to keep a box of tissues next to the laptop. Thanks so much for sharing:salute:
