.....so, last winter this guy buys a beautiful 1949 Stinson to learn how to fly in. 8 months later (?) his instructor feels he is ready to solo. They fly to a nearby airport and after several touch & gos, the instructor gets out.
The student's first landing is really bad......stalls it in from about 10 feet. The second landing is a little better but not much.
On the third and last landing the student has calmed down and appears to "grease" the plane in BUT the left wheel is frozen/jammed (probably from the first two landings). It leaves a "skid-mark" for about 100 yds on the grass strip before breaking off. The landing gear strut digs into the ground and.........
