Having some health issues...

To all,

I haven't been around much the last couple of days because I've been having some health issues. I thought I might have been having some heart trouble, but going to the doctor's office last night and getting a EKG yielded no negative results. My blood sugar, cholesterol, and urine are all well within normal levels.

Still, the stinging / tingling in my chest comes and goes. I had an MMR booster last Friday, and there is the possibility that I could be having an allergic reaction to it. (This intermittent stinging / tingling didn't start until after that) There is also the possibility that this could also be heartburn-related.

Until I find out for sure the cause, I may not be around quite as much as I'd like during the day.

I'll keep y'all appraised of any news.

Dear Rami

We all wish you the very best with your health issues! thanks for letting us know, and keep us informed. I wish you a speedy and full recovery.

best

Do find out, Rami. Take the tests. I had idiopathathic cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure, and didn't even know it. I thought I had a bad cold, or at worst pnuemonia. I finally went to the hospital on insistence from family, and after they gave me an enzyme test the shift nurse came back and told me I'd had a heart attack. Understand, I had walked into the hospital, and half an hour later I was in ICU. I don't do drugs, don't smoke, and at the time wasn't drinking at all. Have the tests, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

My investigative streak compels me to find out. I do not smoke or do recreational drugs, though I am privy to a glass of wine, a beer, or a glass of scotch on occasion.

Hell, Rami ... beer, wine and scotch should be considered part of a proper diet so I shouldn't think that's a problem. I'll put you on my prayer list as a precautionary measure ...

Cheers, Billy

Yup... those symptoms are often the result of reflux or nerves or both. Glad to hear your "ticker" and chemistry tested out okay. Keep us informed and be in good health! :ernae:

Hmmm . . .

I had similar symptoms when I first got Shingles but you are a bit young for that one.

Maybe it is your nerves acting up in anticipation of the upcoming Yankees series . . .

:applause:

Hi Rami ,,

An EKG is not a good enough indicator for heart problems ,,,had one 20 hrs before the heart attack ,,, and it came up aces ,,,
April 3rd gots Quadrupple + 1 bypass ,,, and on the mend ,, soon to be the terror of virtual skys once more ,,, thanks to all for prayer,s and best wishes ,,, Sarg

Rami

You will be in our prayers. Push for a heart catheritization and a ecocardiogram...unless they look inside your ticker, there is no sure way to know for sure that everything is hunky dory with your heart. EKGs only measure rhythms, and do not give any clue to blockages or valve leakage.

Hmmmmmm.....sounds like a case of the dreaded Ickie server revenge-itis.

Take 4 measures of scotch every 6 hours and let the missus pamper you.

I know this board is important to you and you are equally important to this community. Know that your friends here are pulling and praying for a speedy resolution to your problem and a return to good health.

Yes, take all of the tests, and investigate fully! I'm sending good karma your way for nothing serious going on at all. Sounds like maybe acid reflux/hiatal hernia/GERD? Any added stressors in your life? Zantac 75 is good for acid, but you don't want to just 'mask' the symptoms. (BTW, my medical advice is worth exactly what you paid for it!)

My best wishes for a speedy recovery, and no long term problems! We're all pulling for you, Rami!

I agree with all of the above, get yourself thoroughly checked out Rami. Will be thinking of you.

Yo Big Stud:

I do not smoke or do recreational drugs

Oh yeah? Then stop taking the Viagra!! (sorry Mrs Rami  )

Sounds like there is too much blood being routed to yer .... uh .... "joystick" ????

Get better soon or I'll be forced to send the "Canadian / Irish Mafia" down to visit ya.... They'll drink all yer booze, eat all yer food, watch yer TV & NEVER LEAVE!!!

Typo, Collin ?

...Take 4 measures of scotch every 6 hours and let the missus pamper you....

Given the "prescriptive" medications suggested, I think Dirtman and Collin's combined medication regimin would CAUSE a heart attack, not PREVENT it !!

So - either take Bleu Thunder and have at it, or take 4 measures of Scotch every hour until cured !

[In all seriousness, get better FAST - who's gonna keep us in line while the other guys are distracted ???]

Thanks for the advice. A stress test didn't raise any red flags, and next they're going to do an ultrasound and blood work. Actually, I've only have had one incident today, and yesterday I only had two twinges, not nearly as many as over the weekend and Monday.

It's also shifted to below my neck, not in my chest cavity. It's feeling more and more like pulled muscles.
