Having Some Sound Problems

Here's the thing, I run FS9 same as usual. The sound in the menu works fine, but all sound during gameplay has stopped. I did check my sound options in the settings folder to see if that was the problem, that's all fine. And I tryed restarting both FS9 as well as trying different plane:faint:

I could use some advice, please.

Check that you have not inadvertently hit the Q key....that will stop all in-sim sound (menu sounds still will work, but in-sim sounds will not be active).

Or, hit ALT to bring up the menu bar at the top of your screen. Select OPTIONS (I think) and look for SOUND to make sure it is turned on.

Well Yeah, I knew that.

Don't worry, I already checked that out.

Just a thought. My son has messed the sound up for me quite a few times when he puts headphones in. I always have to go to the volume properties and change the setting to "speakers" after he's done to get the sound back.

I do use Headphones on my computer, but i don't use them when running FS9.

Dude

I mentioned the Q thingie because I once lost sound in CFS2...spent 2 days trying to figure it out. I even went so far as to change sound cards. Then I did a post on it, and someone mentioned the Q...and that is indeed what it was. Sometimes it's the simplest of things that trip us up.

I think it was just my comuter that was the problem, the damn thing's been a bit wonky lately when it comes to sound.

Thanks though.:wiggle:

I've had this happen in the past when things go quite in the sim for no apparent reason.

Restarted the computer and it fixed it.

But another thing that's happened a couple of times lately is, in several panels which have a CD player as a gauge entry , I unintentionaly clicked it and the engine sound volume decreased by about 50%.

The sound in the sim stayed that way for some days before getting back to the original volume.

Strange things these inner workings.

Pete.
