Even after installing GH directly into GW, Hawaii is still a no go. So, I am going to start back at step one...a fresh install of FS9. Test Hawaii. Then install GW3 and the updates and Test Hawaii. Then begin reinstalling all of Bill Lyon's aircraft..one at a time...and test Hawaii after each install. I am going to figure out what is going on. 1930s and 1940s aviation isn't the same with out Wheeler Field, Ford Island, Pearl Harbor.
Y'know... I seem to remember reading something a few years back where someone had the same sort of trouble with entering or starting in an area causing a crash. Turns out that the magnetic variance in one AFCAD file was vastly different from the rest of the region and causing the Sim to shut down. Best I remember, it was a tedious process to weed out the culprit, but once repaired, all was fine.
Okay, another brand new install of FS9. Fired it up and test Hawaii...working fine. Updated to 9.1 and test...Hawaii still there. Installed GW3...Hawaii still there. Installed the 1st GW update and Hawaii was still there. 2nd GW update and Hawaii was still there.
Does anyone know what the InstallTest3 and InstallTest4 exe files in the GW3extras package do? Don't want to install them until I know what they do.
I have redownloaded all of Bill Lyon's aircraft and will install them one at a time, being very careful to set the scenery up in a designated folder, and test Hawaii after each install. Will follow this testing procedure after each aircraft and scenery that I reinstall....eventually I will discover what has been causing the original GS installs crash on Hawaii.
So far so good...Have the HDE clouds and Rhumbaflappy's world mesh installed and Hawaii is still working! Have the factory stock vintage planes replaced with the tweaked versions from my earlier install.
